The Brief:

# You are required to make a child's wheeled toy.(for age 2-19)

It will need to have a number of functions:
Amuse, move, be of sound construction and not come apart in use. It can also have numerous modifications.

Constraints:

# It must have a housing joint.
# It must be made from the materials supplied by the teacher.
# Timber: Radiata pine, 90*19*210mm.
# Dowling: 6*300mm
# Plywood: 6*90*300.
# Plastic/Wood: Wheels (4 to 6)
# Screws.

Sketches:

Make rough sketches of your ideas.
Discuss these in your group.
Make a plan and elevation showing all your final design details and measurements.

Product Research:

List ages of children you would consider making this product for. What type of child would this product appeal to?

Technology Investigation:

# Where have you seen similar toys displayed?
# What about the cost?
# What materials were used?

Packaging:

# What materials are currently being usd to package similar products?
# What colours are popular?
# Are the materials biodegradable?
# What materials would you use?

Promotion:

# How do companies promote similar products?
# What makes a company decide on a particular method of promotion?

Your Product:

# What should you call your product?
# Who would you sell it to?
# What changes did you make and why?
# What type of design have you chosen?
